RPA is here to stay! Here’s how you can successfully implement RPA and manage the internal resistance

11

Since the advent of RPA as a vehicle to accelerate the business performance within organizations, risks haven’t been frequently sidestepped since its inception. However, even today, RPA remains a considerable success strategy for organizations because of its efficiency, sustainability, and process-focused programs to govern, assess, standardize, and monitor internal processes, performance, and risk.

Although RPA may enhance the overall operational efficiency of business processes, how is the internal resistance will be impacted by the introduction of such transformational automation initiatives?

The organizational training and education should be deployed (and how frequently) to provide the necessary skills uplift (e.g., awareness, foundations, and development). The new learning paths, job descriptions, and workforce planning changes should be defined to promote the program’s sustainability. An organization should initiate and monitor the automation anxiety and resistance that will culturally impact it.

Any innovation that leads to implementing new technology will be traumatic for employees as they experience the changes in their responsibilities. A proper communication strategy from the company’s executive and senior leaders will ensure the employees about the expectations on them throughout the implementation process to successful adoption. Nurturing a culture of innovation within the company will further accelerate this adoption and increase business operational efficiency.
